Imixs-Workflow is a powerful workflow engine based on BPMN 2.0. Its open architecture allows you to automate complex business processes, improve productivity, and streamline enterprise workflows. Imixs-Workflow provides a comprehensive set of APIs and Plug-Ins that allows you to integrate BPMN 2.0 into your business applications.
Imixs-Workflow is based on the open, scalable, transactional and robust Jakarta EE and the Eclipse Microprofile architecture. Imixs-Workflow supports many open standards and runs on any modern Application Server.

BPMN EJB JPA Java EE REST
Initially developed as a proprietary software for the IBM LotusDomino application server, Imixs-Workflow became an open source project in 2005. The system is well productized, supports many open standards, including BPMN 2.0 standard and runs on any modern Application Server. Imixs-Workflow is supported by a self-financed SME based in Germany. The company reports deployment across the world and claims some 50 customers, essentially SMEs with typically 10 to 100 employees. It is currently developing a SaaS offering to facilitate growth in the SME market.
